I need email tech support

Hello,

I spent over 45 mins on the phone with your helpdesk, no one could help, or open up a ticket on this issue.

They ended up telling me to come here for help.

I need to get some Aliases on my main account, and also need to change my primary email address.

Also in the outlook web access, my display name is incorrect, and I change it in the control panel area, but it does not switch.

I need help from someone who works on the email at comcast.

Does Comcast check these message boards?   I was told by their tech support to come on there, since they were not able to open a ticket.

Hello HouseofBlonde and welcome,

First, it is absolutely astounding to hear that anyone in technical support is not able to provide any assistance. Secondly, for you to be informed to come into this forum for technical support and not have a ticket opened is also rather absurd. However, this forum does provide customers to customers or Comcast to customers assistance on a general basis, just to make sure your expectation is now set correctly.

Thirdly, the Business Class Portal (BCP) has some very strong search help assistance, which I will demonstrate for you.
So let me provide assistance to your inquiries:

1. ) " I need to get some Aliases on my main account, and also need to change my primary email address. "

This will provide assistance towards Create an alias for your Comcast Business email account

This will provide assistance towards Change your Comcast Business online account sign-in to a Microsoft email address

2.) " Also in the outlook web access, my display name is incorrect,  "

Could you please clarify this with more detail.

Hope this helps you out.

thank you for your assistance.

I am familar with those links you sent.  I am unable to create a alais for my domain name.  I can create a alias for the comcastbiz domain, but not to my houseofblonde.net domain.

Also my display name is not correct, but in the cpanel, it is.

Based on this search result your domain is not hosted Comcast.

In order for a customer to utilize their domain with Comcast they have to verify themselves as the owner of it.

As VBSSP-RICH has kindly posted, our online help articles will assist.

Here is an article on the subject on how to: Use your existing domain name with Comcast Business email and web hosting.

Thank you

Our mail servers are located on Comcast, as you posted.   Those are the MX records you just posted.  So all of the mail is routing to you all.  Been this way for over a year.

We have our website on bluehost.  Which serves are needs. I do not understand why that would be a issue with mail, and your control panel options for accounts.

All I am trying to do is add a alais  to the existing email account.

Hello again HouseofBlonde,

As Comcast_Jon indicated, your domain is not registered with Comcast per the specific following:

A67.205.37.13

MX0 mq01.ch4.comcast.net.
0 mx01.ch4.comcast.net.
0 mq02.ch4.comcast.net.

CNAMENo CNAME record found.

NSns1.dreamhost.com.
ns2.dreamhost.com.
ns3.dreamhost.com.

PTRNo PTR record found.

SOAns1.dreamhost.com. hostmaster.dreamhost.com
2013021200 19040 1800 1814400 14400

Whenever any domain is brought into Comcast and registered, it is mandatory to first register and to use a Comcast specific CNAME and NS record addresses. Only when this has been accomplished, as Comcast_Jon specified in this link he provided, can you have the alias control that you are looking for.

Hope this helps you out.

Ok.

I want to make clear.  My issue is on here.

https://businessclass.comcast.net

I log into my account on there,  I go into the email tab  under manage services,

then go to manage email addresses,

I edit my user, and try to add a alias to my existing email account on comcast.   I would like to add a email alias, nothing more.

I am not trying to add a alias on my website.  Just a email account alias.

I do not see how Cname or where I post my Name servers matters.  All my existing Mail records, (MX) is pointed to Comcast.

I am recieving email just fine.   Just want another alias added to my email  I attempt on the https://businessclass.comcast.net to add such, and it does not save.

Without hijacking the thread, I will add that I, too, am having e-mail alias issues. Cannot delete a duplicate alias (actually there are three of the same). Keeps giving me an error when I click delete. Also would like the ability to edit the name that it gives to the alias in the OAB. Businessclass website has been very buggy lately and tech support consistently provides no solutions (party line seems to be it's a Microsoft Outlook issue and Comcast doesn't provide support for that.

I am still unable to save a new alais in my main account.  This issue is on the comcast side of things, in their cpanel functions.

I tried to add the Alais, this morning, and it does not save.

I add what I want, click on "I'm done" , it pops up a window saying "Processing".

I go back in, the Alais is not saved.

I been reporting this issue since last week. I have not recived any updates from Comcast.

Is there any update on the issue I reported, and another did also?
