Good day, fellow victi.. uhh, 'users' of Comcast!  I thought I'd post an update regarding the issue of not being permitted to use static IP's with a customer-owned modem/gateway. What I found out is, I think, likely to raise eyebrows (and, possibly blood pressure levels) other than mine.  For those

We'll find out in about 30 minutes but when I scheduled this appt the supervisor said it would be to switch me over to  an SMC specifically.

No, there is not. You would think there would be, this being "business class" and all, but sadly no. I know I would find it quite valuable myself.

I'd like to SNMP monitoring my business cable modem (just via the LAN interface), is there a way to turn on SNMP read?

BE WARNED EVERYONE!   Even if a modem is listed as "Comcast Approved" apparently (as I just discovered) this has nothing to do with business service.   So, for example, Comcast refuses to provision my brand new D-Link DMC-301.  You have to use the sl

Ha.  Yeah ... I've been meaning to get my own modem anyway but this just pushed me over the edge for getting out of renting the modem sooner rather than later.

Hey Support, I've got a few PTR entries I need setup for my static IPs, I'd prefer not to post them here for obvious reasons though.  Is there a form or someone I should PM for this? Thanks!
