Autodiscover.xml 404 error
We had an interesting problem start up this morning when trying to access emails through outlook and the comcast exchange servers. After doing some trouble shooting through https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com we found we are getting a 404 error. The specific text is below
The Microsoft Connectivity Analyzer is attempting to retrieve an XML Autodiscover response from URL https://xxxxxxx.com:443/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml for user
A Web exception occurred because an HTTP 404 - NotFound response was received from Unknown. HTTP Response Headers: Pragma: no-cache Vary: Accept-Encoding,User-Agent Connection: close Transfer-Encoding: chunked Cache-Control: no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0 Content-Type: text/html; charset=utf-8 Date: Thu, 16 Apr 2015 16:36:30 GMT Expires: Thu, 19 Nov 1981 08:52:00 GMT Last-Modified: Thu, 16 Apr 2015 16:36:30 GMT Set-Cookie: sid_customer_65ad0=31255ae849cfc2a467ab901208d675a1_1_C; expires=Thu, 30-Apr-2015 16:36:30 GMT; path=/; domain=.domain.com; HttpOnly Server: Apache/2.2.29 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.29 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_bwlimited/1.4 X-Powered-By: PHP/5.4.35 Elapsed Time: 648 ms. |
We have gone into the business portal to double check all of the settings to make sure they match the WHM panel in case something had changed but everything it good.
I ran a trace in mx tools with the autodiscover.ourdomain.com which traces to autodiscover-rd.w14d.comcast.net which matches the DNS settings in our portal.
Webmail works fine which is pointing us to some sort of configuration problem on the comcast exchange server. Has anyone else ran into this, if so how did you get it resolved?
Thanks

Hello Daspion and welcome,
What version of Outlook are you using? Also, what default browser does this computer use? It may be necessary for you to clear your browser's cache and cookies, because the error message is not seeing any cache required entries. This HPPT 404 error points to browser issue.
