Are there any viable Comcast business gateways today?

Hi, we have a Cisco DPC3941B with the usual litany of firmware problems.  We have an imminent need to do some port forwarding/mapping from external ports to internal IPs, which doesn't work (we get the "failed" error).  And even if it *did* work, the functionality is totally not there to map an external port to a *different* internal port (which we need to do, since we have to map external ports to the same internal port on different IPs.

So is there something business-gateway wise we can ask Comcast for that *does* work?  Or is the only/best option to set the gateway into "bridge" mode (essentially making it a modem) and buying our own router?  (And if we did do that, is there any way to manage that device after the change- say we wanted to change it back- or is the only management access from that point forward from the WAN side via Comcast support?)

Thanks!

We've had many problems with a DPC3939B and it was replaced last week with a DPC3941B which was worse (e.g., IPV4 DHCP refuses to work). Hoping to get a Technicolor TCxxxxx in soon, so we'll see.

Somewhere (not a Comcast page) I saw a list of 4 supported modem/router devices, the two Ciscos, the Technicolor TC8717T and an Arris TG1682G.  It may be difficult to convince they you need a newer router and I think the better ones are reserved for those with faster service.

I'm seriously considering going on our own with an approved 3rd party modem and router; there seems to be many choices. Downside would be Comcast would not be able to access it to fix anything when I'm not onsite and can't access it remotely, and in this case I am remote with a 35 minute drive.
