Hi  mkeating and welcome to the business forums. 

 

I can help create a PTR record. Please private message me your full name, the name of your business, the full address and the phone number associated with your business account. Please also include the static IP address you want to use and what name/mail server you want to point it to.

Is this still the correct method to get the PTR record done? The rep on the phone said "We don't do that here".

Hello,

I have also been searching support pages and forum posts for an answer to this same question.

I called support a couple days ago and was told a level 2 support representative would get back to me. That hasn't happened yet but the whole approach I'm taking seems wrong to me.  I think I'm missing something obvious; it seems like there should be a screen in my web portal to do it manually.  These days there is probably an API so I can use an Ansible playbook for this sort of routine configuration.

Has anyone found any documentation of a URL or API for sending in DNS PTR updates?  Even an email address where I could send a specially formatted DNS update would work. Just need the documentation and I'll take it from there.

I sent the private chat message to "Comcast Business" but I'm not sure that account is monitored.  All the "Engagement Stats" are zero.
