Cannot send email with Outlook with external domain
I have been using a GoDaddy account for email with Comcast Business for the past four years, and all worked fine. Two weeks ago I could no longer connect to their SMTP server. Tier 2 support told me that since my domain doesn't exist on the Comcast side, I can no longer use it. I can ONLY use my Comcast account to send emails. Is this right? Seems pretty silly to me.

Hello dangeyer and welcome to forums,
I apologize for any confusion but we have not supported usage of our SMTP server from outside domains for quite a while now. Considering the amount of time that you have had your account, your configuration was still acting on "Legacy Domain" settings. It appears that a recent audit must have noted your usage and stopped access to the SMTP server. Again I apologize for any frustration this has caused.

Thanks for the reply. That is what the Tier 2 Email Support person told me. I just find it difficult to conceive of a business service that will not allow external SMTP access. Even ATT allows this.

To clarify, I am not trying to access a Comcast STMP server from an outside domain, I am trying to log in to a GoDaddy SMTP server using Comcast as my ISP.
