Fustrating Customer Service

Called comcast signed up for a new renewal contract - added an extra line, got an contact . Asked the salesman if I would be able to choose a number so that it would be easier for me to remember with all the other five lines I already have, he said the scheduler will let me do that.

Few days later got a call form scheduler, he said the when the installer get there he will provide you with some number which he cannot tell what. So I explained him that the salesman had told me that you should be able me to give me a choice of numbers. So he told me that he will talk to the Salesman and get back to me.

Two weeks pass, nobody calls back so I call in to inquire, some slaeman ties to sell me a new agreement saying that the contract was not formulated correctly so it did not go through retention. So I call the customer service where a person named Andrea tells me that I never had an order. Then upon demanding to talk to the supervisor she found the contract, told me that the scheduler had cancelled the contract as he could not accomodate my request for the phone number choice. At which point I told her that was not true. Asked her for her employee ID or full name so that I could put it in my notes. She goes on to say that we do not have that - this makes it fustrating why would the company not have the policy of their customer service personel be uniquely identified as many times in the past I have talked to people at the company and ther is no notation on the account. Does Comcast not want feedback on their employees?

Also to the main point why would Comcast not give me the choice of numbers that suit me or are easier to remember- is it too much to ask for? You did give me a choice when I switched from AT&T to Comcast....is time switch back??

Customer service was the biggest issue why we switched from AT&T to Comcast.

If you are having issues with the phone numbers available on your account, you can call (1-800-391-3000) and speak with a care rep to havev your number changed. As an alert, it is usually easier for you to have active phone service with us before requesting a specific number. If you do need any futher assitance, feel free to send a private message to myself or any of the other forum admins. I hope this information helps. -MPD
