smc3dg-ccr reboots every eight hours: ipv6 related?

I have business service with the SMC-3DG modem and a static IPv4 address. I use IPv6 through the modem, despite the super annoying /64 delegation issue with this equipment.

I graph the cablemodem uptime, and every 8 hours it reboots. This is pretty annoying as it's down for minutes every time. The graph looks like a sawtooth (graph is here: http://imgur.com/JdmCJDN) - it really seems like something triggering the thing to reboot. Rarely (say one out of 10 or 20 times) it will reboot after 12/16 hours instead of 8. I also graph downstream SNR and upstream power and they look reasonable (http://imgur.com/xrMGgukhttp://imgur.com/RLXnmdK). This data is scraped from the modem's web interface every five minutes.

Is this a known issue?

Will the netgear business modem fix this problem?

Is there a timeline for an update to fix the SMC-3DG IPv6 /56 delegation issue?

There was a reference to this modem rebooting often due to IPv6 stuff being enabled:

http://forums.businesshelp.comcast.com/t5/IPV6/Using-the-SMC-D3G-with-IPv6-and-static-IPv4/td-p/25567

but I was unable to find the thread referenced.

Thank you.

Hello sfsmcipv6 and welcome to formus.

This is not a know issue that I am aware of. Any modem that you switch to should resolve this issue as I did not see any signal issues that could cause this problem. If you send me a private message with your account and contact information and I can schedule a tech out for you.
