xfinitywifi hotspots "not valid tier" login error, have valid tier active business internet account
Hi:
(re:
that message was closed prematurely as "solved" by someone however I haven't received a resolution yet from tech support and as of several minutes ago I verified I'm still experiecing the login error so re-posting to try to again find help with this)
I'm a comcast business internet customer with the package:
Deluxe 50 Pkg Business Internet
and have been active for a couple of months
according to http://www.xfinity.com/wifi/faqs.htm
I am an XFINITY customer, do I get free access?
XFINITY WiFi is available for no additional charge to XFINITY Internet and Comcast Business Internet customers who subscribe to one of the following:
Performance tier and above
Business Starter tier and above
If you are a new subscriber, you can begin using XFINITY WiFi right away, even before your XFINITY Internet service has been installed at home.
when I try to log into a xfinitywifi access point anywhere with my Comcast business Email and password (the same that I use to look at and pay my bill) I get an error message saying that (paraphrasing) "you're not subscribed to a valid tier of service and therefore don't have access to xfiniitywifi"
(business) Deluxe 50 is a higher/more expensive tier than (business) starter...so shouldn't I therefore have access to the xfinitywifi hotspots?
Can someone with Customer Service help me with my account so I can have access to these hotspots?
thanks,
David

Hello drobinson and welcome,
You can login to the public xfinitywifi hotspot with unlimited access as follows:
a.) Use the Business Comcast User Login Link - this requires you to have a Comcast business email address that contains comcastbiz.net in the email address suffix
b.) Use the Non-Business User Login link - this is for residential Comcast email customers that contains comcast.net in the email address suffix.
c.) Non-Comcast User - this is any non-Comcast email user who does not have either a. or b. email addresses and can long into using this email adress for Internet wifi access for 2 60 minutes sessions in a 30 day time period. You can purchase Internet access time for various very inexpensive access rates ranging from $4.95 per all day to $9.95 for 7 days access.
Hope this helps you out.

Hi VBSSP-RICH
thanks & thank you for your reply
I've been using my Business Comcast User Login (the same that I use to login to my CB account and view & pay my bill).of which my companyt= email address is my CB user login. I'm not aware of having a comcastbiz.net email address (did CB give me one for free when we signed up for service? when I go to My Services in my CB account I get an error: Sorry, you don't have the permission or services to access this page ). Shouldn't my CB user login work with the public xfinitywifi hotspots with unlimited access?
Another user on here looked into the issue a couple weeks for me and said
"
(your) account number does not have your email address associated with it. The email address is still attached to the previous account (not our currently active account...the two accounts are "tied together" under one CB login) which does not have Internet services. As the domain is not hosted by Comcast the Tier 2 agent was not able to move it over. Assistance was requested from the Server Admin Team. I will update you with their response.
"
but I haven't heard back from that user yet, so that's why I'm reaching out again on the msg boards to try to get this issue resolved and my public xfinitywifi access working.
thanks!
david

Hi David,
You can only access billing information and manage services in the account only if you have account permissiions to be able to do so. I would check with your email admin account user to see if these permissions can be granted to you.
If you go to http://businessclass.comcast.net and there is a register your account button if you have not done this yet. If you have and want to create a Microsoft email address please use this link. This link will enable you to change any email address to a secured Comcast business comcastbiz.net email address. Even if you only have one of these you can use the business class xfinitywifi login link with you email.address.comcastbiz.net and password to log in for unlimited public wifi access.
Hope this helps you out.

HI VBSSP-RICH
thanks for your help
fyi, another user on here helped me establish a (new username)@comcast.net email address that's connected to our comcast business account and that new email address is letting us access the free xfinitywifi hotspots.
when I try to follow the link you provided:
http://businesshelp.comcast.com/help-and-support/email/create-comcast-business-email-address-online-account/
to try to setup a @comcastbiz.net email address I'm getting an error page:
