Users not appearing in Company Directory

One of our Business Voice Edge users has an assigned Voice Edge number and has been using it for a considerable amount of time, but does not appear in the Company Directory when we search for his name, extension, or phone number. How do we force the Directory to pick up on existing users, and how do we make sure that when new users are added in future, they appear in the Directory right away?

@JMcGeary Hello! Thank you for reaching out to the Digital Care Team today. If the number is not appearing in your company directory, you would need to update the directory itself with the information you are looking to find.

How do I go about doing that? When I scroll through the company directory there does not appear to be an Edit, Add, or Change button anywhere that I can find, and clicking on a highlighted number or extension just gives me a 'call placed successfully' pop-up.

@JMcGeary That is a good question! I truly depends on the software/system your company uses to maintain the listings. I would recommend reaching out to your local IT support group to assist in making the update.

I realize this is months after anyone bothered to look at this topic but we're still having this problem. The 'software/system your company uses to maintain the listings' is the Comcast website.  As in:

I don't know what IT support group is supposed to handle that, other than COMCAST. It's their phone system. It's their web site. There is literally no way to tell this web page 'oh, by the way, this extension should belong to this user now, please set that up'.

1+ year later still no answer to this question. I am in the same boat as you. I add new users, assign them a number, everything works great. Except that user's name isn't updated in the Directory. There is no edit or add or delete buttons anywhere. Maybe we are missing something? Seems pretty simple to me.

Hello @user_b85013, thanks for reaching out for help with managing your company directories. Business VoiceEdge allows you to check your company's directory and personal contact directory online.

Select Add Contact to add a single contact. Select Import Multiple Contacts to add a group of contacts by uploading a .csv file.

  • Note: The .csv file must be in form of Name Number.
    • Name: First and last name in the same field.
    • Number: Use the following formats: ##########, ###-###-####, or ### ### ####.

      Please note, updating the contact directory on My Account does not update to your VoiceEdge phone at this time.
