Add, delete, or deactivate My Account users (Answered)

Whether this is your first time inviting users to My Account or you simply need a refresher, this article outlines the process for adding new account users and providing specific permissions and access. We’ll also walk through how to delete or deactivate users.


Invite a user


Some customers may have a slightly different version of the following My Account feature. If the images in this section vary from what you see in your account, please refer to the Alternate Invite a User section.

  1. Sign in to My Account and select Users from the account management menu.
  2. Select Invite User.

    The Invite User button is to the far right of the page in the upper corner.

  3. Enter the new user's email address and select Verify Email.

  4. Once the email address is verified, enter the new user’s first and last name and select the role that you wish to assign to them. Then select Continue.

    Roles are listed horizontally at the bottom of the page and are listed as: Service User, Service Manager, Billing Manager, and Services & Billing Manager. Click on one to assign the role.

  5. Once you have confirmed that the information provided is correct, you will be prompted to review details and send the invite.

    User Details are listed first, horizontally. Account Details are listed beneath that, horizontally. Review before clicking the Send Invite button to the top or bottom on the right-hand side.

New user activation

The activation link emailed to the new user expires after 24 hours. The following steps outline how a new user will activate My Account.

  1. Select Activate My Account from the Comcast Business invitation email.

  2. Enter the First Name and Last Name, then select Continue.

    Fillable boxes are in the center of the screen, with First Name on the left and Last Name to the right of it. Enter those details to continue and then click Continue on the bottom right.

  3. A confirmation screen will display the email address this user will need to sign in to their account. Selecting Sign In will bring the user to the My Account sign-in page.

    A Thank You screen will pop up. Click the Sign In button in the center of the screen.


Deactivate a user

Deactivating a user will suspend their access to the account, but it will not remove any of their information or My Account settings.

If your screens appear to be different than the screens displayed in the section below, please refer to the Alternate deactivate a user section.

  1. Sign in to My Account and select Users from the account management menu.
  2. Select Deactivate User from the three-dot menu to the right of the user you wish to deactivate. You will then be asked to confirm deactivation.

    Click the three vertical dots to the far right-hand side of each name. The second option down is Deactivate User.

    To reactivate a deactivated user, follow the same steps and select Reactivate User.


Delete a user

Deleting a user will remove their My Account access, information, and settings.

If your screens appear to be different than the screens displayed in the section below, please refer to the Alternate delete a user section.

  1. Sign in to My Account and select Users from the account management menu.
  2. Select Delete from the three-dot menu to the right of the user you wish to delete. You will then be asked to confirm deletion.

    Click the three vertical dots to the far right-hand side of each name. The third option down is Delete User.


Alternate invite a user

If your screens appear to be different than the screens displayed in the Invite a user steps above, follow these steps below.

  1. Sign in to My Account and select Users from the lefthand menu.

  2. Select Invite New User.

  3. Enter the new user's email address and select Verify email.

  4. Once the email address is verified, enter the new user’s first and last name.

  5. Use the checkboxes to select the user’s access options. Users will have access to My Account as a default setting. Users can have a combination of billing, account, user, and service portal permissions. Click the Next button on the bottom right corner of the screen.

    If you select Service Portals, clicking Next will launch the Select Permissions page, where you will use dropdowns to set the user’s access to the appropriate service management portals. When you are done selecting permissions, click the Next button on the bottom right of the screen.

  6. On the Billing Accounts page, use the checkbox(es) to assign billing account(s) to the user. Click Next button in the bottom right corner when you are finished.

  7. Review the User Information section and click Send Invite.

  8. The user will receive an email invitation. The user has 24 hours to accept the invitation.


Alternate deactivate a user

Deactivating a user will suspend access to the account but will not remove any information.

If your screens appear to be different than the screens displayed in the Deactivate a User section above, follow these steps below.

  1. Sign in to My Account and select Users from the lefthand menu.

  2. Locate the user you wish to deactivate and select Deactivate User from the three-dot menu to the right of the user you wish to deactivate. You will then be asked to confirm deactivation.

  3. You can also deactivate a user from their profile page by clicking the Deactivate This User link.

Alternate delete a user

Deleting a user will remove their My Account information.

If your screens appear to be different than the screens displayed in the Delete a User section above, follow the steps below.

  1. Sign in to My Account and select Users from the lefthand menu.

  2. Locate the user you wish to delete and select Delete User from the three-dot menu to the right of the user you wish to delete. You will then be asked to confirm deletion.
