Lost Emails During Migration

Somehow during migration, both our Inbox and Outbox lost/dropped emails.  The Inbox is missing emails between 9/12/2017 and 1/27/2017, and the Outbox is missing everything between 9/27/2017 and 10/05/2016.  What happened and how do we retrieve them?
