Change DNS but keep email working
Hi. I'm moving my website to a different host and need to change the DNS for the domain used here. I know how to change the DNS but I want to make sure I don't mess up the email addresses that are setup here when I make the change.
What do I need to do to ensure the email still works when I change the DNS?

Hello joem and welcome,
As lone as you do not change the domain name itself, i.e. @Domain_Name, you should have no problems. The onlyy thing you must do is have your MX, CNAME, and Name Server records changed by you new hosting administer to what they uuse.
Hope this helps you out.

Hello joem,
Sorry for the late reply to your question.
To clarify VBBSP-RICH's post of MX.
Once your domain has been successfully transfer to your new host.
Sign in to your Comcast Business online account and select Websites from the Manage Services menu.
• Select DNS info for domains.
• The DNS name will display the information for your registered domain.
• The MX records will start with mq01 / mq02 / mx01.
• The DNS name will also display the Mail server records of:
• Autodiscover / SMTP / POP /IMAP
Please note that these Mail server records are entered as “CNAME” records by your DNS provider
(Example: autodiscover.mydomain.com ttl CNAME autodiscover-rd.”yourmailserver”)
Thank you
