Settings for Exchange server in Outlook 10

I installed outlook 10 and the exchange server and it seemed to install properily  Once installed it does not automatically bring in new messages (I need to hit send recieve) and it never complete the send receive cycle.  I allowed the system to give me the settings.

I fixed the send/receive hanging up by eliminating the syncing with off line address book   The only problem remaining is that it does not automatically send receive to bring in new emails.  When I send an emial it goes right out

IbuPropin,

Sorry for the late reply.

Based on this post it appears to be a "filtering" issue that causing this issue.

I would recommend the following troubleshooting steps:

1. First connect a single computer directly to the Comcast modem

2. Create a new Outlook profile via autodiscover without any email rules

3. Try to send/receive from this computer

If you are able to send/receive automatically then I would recommend creating new profile on your old computer for testing.

If you still cannot send/receive email after this test, then it is an issue with your email account itself.

This will require a testing by our support team to assist.

Thank you

Most expediant method is to contact our technical support team (1-800-391-3000)

Hello ibuPropin and welcome,

You can obtain all of your email server addresses as follows:

1. Log into the Business Class Portal (BCP) using your administrator account

2. Go to Manage Services.Email. then click on View DNS Info.

This DNS Info provides all of your Domain(s) correct Exchange or Wemail Outlook 2010 email server addresses that should be used. Simply configure your Outlook email accounts and your email should work just fine.

Hope this helps you out.

Hello IbuPropin,

Based on you posts it appears you are setting up exchange via manual entry.

Have you tried to setup it via auto-discover?

If you have done, so do you get any error, if any?

Do you mind sharing your domain name with us so may assist?

Thank you

(Please ignore this post if your issue has been resolved.)

I am now having the same issue with email.   I use outlook 2013 and yesterday a message appeared on my screen " your exchange administrator has made changes that require you to restart outlook."  upon restarting outlook it remains disconnected and my mail will not work.  I can access it on the web but the web access is different than it was a week ago,  It used to use HMC1 and now goes to a w14c location.  Autodetect will not configure and now my outlook wont start.   HELP

Here is my domain info

mentors.comcastbiz.net

I originally set it up allowing the system to do it and it went through, but it has not worked properly.  The two problems are that it does not automatically receive emails.  I need to hit send/receive and then it usually hangs up on the domain and if I look at the dialogue box it shows"

Offline address book Connecting to Microsoft Exchange and just sits there.

I then went into options and advanced send receive and told it NOT to sync off line address book.  Sometimes it works but it eventually hangs up.

I guess I am confused.  I responded to this last week with the following:

I have gotten no response. from this or anything and the issue still exists.
