NO Solution for having a Static IPv4 address, IPv6 and DOCSIS 3.0
Just got off the phone with Comcast Support. Apparently, you cannot have a higher tiered connection (requires DOCSIS 3.0) and IPv6 capabilities on a Comcast Owned modem. At the same time you cannot have a Static IPv4 address on a non-Comcast owned modem.
I cannot believe that I am the only one who wants to do this. There must be a solution, either comcast gets a modem for leave that CAN do this or allow me to buy a modem that will and load my IPv4 static address on it.
UGH any thoughts?

I should also say I currently have a Netgear CG3000DCR. Seems like a firmware upgrade should make it work but the document at http://mydeviceinfo.comcast.net/ says otherwise.

No updates. No actual dates.. I got the impression they are working on a firmware update for all the devices before they turn up the service. I think the real answer is keep waiting for an undefined ammount of time. Gotta love this "business class" service.

Dynamic IPv6 for Comcast Business customers is still under test. Additional information concerning Comcast IPv6 initiatives can be found here at the IPv6 Information Center. Currently, statically assigned IPv6 addressing for Comcast Business customers is not available.
Thank You

I pay $180 per year for the Static IP. On top of that, I am forced to pay $150 per year as "Equipment Fee" because I must use Comcast's modem. And this is why I cannot get IPv6?
I've been a customer for 5+ years and have been quite happy, but recent rate hikes coupled with behind-the-curve service like this makes me want to switch. Too bad I have no other choices

Dynamic IP services can have a customer owned device but static needs to have a Comcast CCR modem..
As devices are ready for dynamic v6 we are enabling then ASAP.. Static v6 will be later in 2015, static customers will recieve a dynamic v6 prefix till static v6 is ready.. Once static v6 is ready we will contact the static customers and tell them when the prefix they have been using will be changing..
We are right around the corner of starting to enable these devices for dual-stack..
