SIP proxy and DPC3939B?

I've read the specs for this modem from Cisco, under 'Voice', it lists a SIP proxy. Here it is:

Product Specifications

Specification

Description

Voice

Call signaling protocol

  Packet Cable 2.0

Basic configuration
(per line)

SIP signaling port (local receive and source port)
  SIP registrar
  SIP proxy
  SIP outbound proxy
  Username
  Password
  Authentication name

Is this SIP proxy also for the 4 ethernet ports? If so, how do you disable SIP proxy on those ports, or is it disabled by default?

OR

Is the SIP proxy only on the 2 ATA lines?

Hello ObieWan and welcome,

The DPC3939B Gateways does not support SIP proxy on this device due to only the Internet facilities are supported and no Telephone whatsoever.

Hope this helps you out.

The embedded SIP functionality of this gateway may be causing us problems. We see interference with SIP over TCP on port 5060. SIP over UDP, alternate ports, or TLS works fine, but TCP/5060 gets blocked after a few packets go through.
