Netgear CG3000DCR ports are not working

My internet was working properly as following,

Power light - solid,

Down Stream - Blinks

Up Stream - Blinks

Internet - Blinks

1 - Orange ( LAN wired to desktop PC)

2,3,4 - no plugged.

Today, there was heavy thunderstorm, and my internet was outage.

so I check the connection of signal at the online with my phone 4G network.

All connection is showing okay.

But I don't get any connection on my PC.

and the CG3000DCR is now showing,

Power light - solid

Down Stream - solid

Up Stream - solid

Internet - solid

1 - no light with (LAN wired to desktop PC)

I tried new LAN cable to my PC, and I also tried other PC with new LAN cable.

and tried, tried, tried all options that I could try.

But 1,2,3,4 ports lights are not showing anything.

Behind my PC where LAN cable is plugged is no led either.

I called Comcast Business, and he told my connection is good.

So I explained that cable modem ports are not working, maybe the cable modem damaged or shot.

But Rep. told me it's my problem about the PC or LAN cables, he told me I have to call local tech to fix my PC.

I made appointment on Monday from Comcast, if this is other than the cable modem, then I have to pay $100 service call.

But if it's cable modem, they will replace it for free at no cost.

What do you think?

Does cable modem have some kind of physical damaged on port circuit board or some where?

Hello klee and welcome,

I would shutdown your PC, then unplug the NetGear 3000 (NG3K) AC for 30 seconds then plug it back into AC. Then reboot  your Computer. If you do not get any green-flashing led from you Computers NIC card, that means the problem is there. However, if you do get a flashing green led on your NIC card and do not get any led flash or steady on your NG3K LanPort 1, and you are using a known good Enet cable, then it must be LanPort 1.  I would also check to see if any other LanPorts 2,3,or 4 work, just in case only one LanPort channel is bad.

Hope this helps you out.

Thank you for your help,

Usually, my NIC has two led (1 orange flashing and 1 red solid) when working normal.

Between the NG3K and NIC - No leds on NIC, No leds on NG3K ports.

I also tried 1,2,3 & 4 Lanport individually, but none is working.

I also have the router and plugged for power only, and plugged sigle Lan cable between the router and NIC,

NIC led is flashing as usual.

And if I connect router with NG3K, there is no port led either.

Like I said, any LAN (from desktop, laptop, router) plugged into my NG3K,  it does not show any led numbers.

Do I need to stay with the appointment by Comcast?

If you have your Computer NIC flashing green = 1Gbps or amber = 100Mbps with a known good enet cable plugged into any NG3K Lanport and your NG3K DHCP is enabled and you have no LanPort Green LED, then it is the LanPorts of the NG3K. You should keep your Comcast appointment to known for sure on a definitive basis.

Done,

The tech replaced the cable modem because ports were damaged by lighting.

I got all working properly at 85's mbps

Thank you for all advice,
