Need my Modem in True Bridge mode

should we be seeing a lot of hanging on web pages & inconsistent speeds after the gateway is in bridge mode?

HI Groupj.  The provisioning bootfile that determines the max up/down speed does not change nor does the DNS Servers. Bridge mode only, turns the device into a stand alone modem with single output functionality.  We can refer the issue to the Regional Support Center if the issue persist.

Looks like an older thread but since its near the top I will give it a whirl, I need my netgear in bridge mode as well. Like everyone else, support said it cant be done.

You seem to be the go-to guy for this issue, we've been scouring the web and practically know the Teir 1 support script by heart now.  Maybe you can help as you have with others in this thread?

DPC3939B, no static IPs, we just need the cursed thing in (true) bridged mode. 
(Just switched over from Verizon, and it's been a nightmare ever since; we can't get our network back up, and the 3939 can't cut it for what we need)

At this point, we're ready to do anything, including buying a "dumb" modem off the shelf.  Folks on the phone have made every excuse in the book from "you need a static IP" and "it's against our policy" to "it'll break your remote access" (huh?!?)

Can you just wave your magic wand and make it all better?

Need mine in bridge mode as well.

Hi all, we have 1 static IP. 

I would like to place our Comcast gateway into bridge mode so that going foward my terminals and settings will all have the (192.168...)  right now, some get the 10.1.10... and others the 192.168...

I am not sure the name of the Comcast Gateway we have, I will post pictures here.  

If someone can answer a few questions, we will trully appreciate it!  🙂

After Comcast Gateway is put into bridge mode... Will the three LAN ports begind modem be disabled?  I am guessing only port #1 will be the only working port and go straight to the WAN of my router?

Also, Once gateway is in bridge mode, will i be able to do all my router settings from the 192.168 linksys address and no longer have to keep accessing the 10.1.10.1 router settings?  

And last question, Is there a difference between "true bridge mode" and "bridge mode"?  My goal would be to have the Linksys router do all the work and configurations, so I can eliminate computers automatically being assigned a 10.1.10... IP.

Can I do a "true Bridge Mode" with my (1) static IP?

I think I need my modem in true bridge mode as well.  I do want to confirm that after this, the modem will pass the ip address that it recieves from comcast to the device (my Router) that is connected to it via dhcp.

Hello riverwood_church_IT welcome to the forum.

I just sent a private message regarding this as well, to clarify by putting a modem in true bride mode it will disable all routing functions via your gateway modem essentially allowing it to just push a single WAN IP to your network device. If you want this done feel free to reply to this or my private message.

Hi we are about to start VOIP service with a 3rd party provider (8x8)  - the have asked that we use their reccomended router dlink655 which has Qos to give priority to the voice data .

We have the comcast cg3000dcr without a static IP  and I called comcast tech support to put it in "bridge mode" as instructed by my voip provider  - I have connected the router to the lan port of the comcast modem abd  the router does not seem to connect to the internet - what do I need to do to get this to work ? Do we have to use "truebridge mode or would the setting done over the phone by comcast level 1 rep  be sufficient

Can I have mine put into true bridge mode as well? I have a dynamic IP, but it sounds like that is not a problem. Thanks!

Edit: Nevermind - I called in and surprising the phone support was able to do it in about 2 minutes.
