my ethernet not working

my modem is red ports where the ethernet cable I can do is connect me to work

Hello havanna2920 and welcome,

 

If you are referring to your amber (orange color) on your Comcast Gateway LanPorts 1-4 LEDs, this only means that your Ethernet Port(s) is(are) operating at 100 Mbps maximim. If the Lanport 1-4 light is green then the port is operating at 1 Gbps.

 

Please let us know if this is what you are refering to and if something else, please provide you modem model number.
