Modem dropout

The modem on this account has been dropping out and reconnecting 6 minutes later. The most recently this afternoon.

Why is this? 

It sets off alarms and causes unnecessary recoveries.

The chat icon in the upper right asks for the person to chat with. I use your "handle" and it doesn't find you.
