DPC3939b Gateway IP greyed out

I have got a DPC3939b comcast modem. I am trying to change the LAN gateway IP from the default 10.1.10.1 IP to a 10.42.61.3 IP. When I try to do that it will not allow me to change the last octet. I also am wanting to turn off DHCP after the change. I am logging into the modem using the cusadmin username and I am thinking that there has to be a different username to allow this type of change.

Hello uByte and welcome,

Comcast holds that Comcast Gateway DHCP Server address d-octet unusable due to internal routing requirements. You can certainly disable the internal DHCP Server in its totality no problem. There is no other customer log in credentials except the cusadmin  highspeed (or what customer wants this to be internally).

Hope this helps you out.

Sounds to me that I am going to have to get my another router. Thanks for the reply.
