Business Gateway web server crashes after about 5 minutes

I'm experiencing a bizarre problem with my new Comcast Business Gateway (Netgear model).  Initially, when I power it on, everything works.  Within about 5-10 minutes, it stops responding to HTTP traffic.  The routing functionality continues to work normally, but it becomes impossible to examine or change the configuration.  I'm trying to get IPv6 working, and having to unplug the gateway over and over again is starting to get old.

Is this bizarre behavior typical for these Netgear routers or did I get a dud?

I have gone thru many of these routers trying to find one that is not a dud and let me tell you after a few times you get hit with a $99.95 charge because they supply you with junk equipment.  See my last post!!!

For me it is not 5 minutes, but more like 1-3 days. After that no access to 10.1.10.1 using HTTP works (I can ping the address succesfully). Only way to get the GUI back is to power cycle. This is obviously highly undesirable.

FYI. All other functions are fine. I have a 5 IP static block and an ER-POE behind this doing all the "real" work. I can access the GUI both from my "inside" lan and from a laptop plugged directly into the back of the NetGear. Once it stops working I cannot reach it either way, and ping still works either way. There are no associated speed problems (other than me thinking I should get more speed for what I pay 🙂

It appears the HTTP server is simply no longer responding.

Based on reading many reports that describe people swapping modems and, eventually, getting charged, without an actual solution appearing, I am not really interested in swapping. I'd like to learn, from ComCast, if this can actually be fixed, or is declared not being fixed.

I have this same problem.  Any solutions?  Is there a way to restart web server using telnet or some other function?

Hello hankb and welcome to forums,

I would like to send a factory reset to your modem to force it to re-register to the network. This may resolve the issue. This process can take up tp 40 minutes to complete. Would you please send a private message with the best time of day to do this reset?

Thank you.
