VPN
Hello,
I'm trying to help my church. Our property exists on both sides of the street, so we have a VPN connecting both sides. I recently was looking into switching from our CIX phone system to a VOIP system, and the VOIP company said we would have problems with our current system because we're double NAT'd (the VPN router is connected to the comcast modem/router.) Because of the VPN, we also have a static IP. I tried putting the modem into "advanced bridge mode" last night, but that took us completely off line. I didn't have time to try the basic bridge mode. That's the plan for tonight. Does anyone have any experience with something like this? The VPN is a Cisco RV260.
- If I put the modem in basic bridge mode, should I change the static IP of the VPN to what the static IP of the modem was?
- Is there a way to keep the VPNs connected reliably without using a static IP?
Thank you!
Paul

Hi there, @user_fae60f.
To keep VPNs connected reliably you would need them to have a static IP address. If they are set up dynamically, when the address changes, you would have to go into your configuration and update the address for the VPN each time.
