static ips

When I change to bridge mode in order to use my static ip, I get this config on my modem WAN Static IP Address (IPv4):

 x.y.z.150./30

So this is supposed to be my gateway,  But if I configure x.y.z.149/30 on my laptop and plug into the modem and try to ping my gateway I cannot ping it.  Am I missing something?  Should be able to configure my static ip and ping my gateway.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Thank you very much for reaching out to us here today. I would be more than happy to look into any IP address issue for you. Could you send us a direct message with the full name and complete address for your service?

To send a direct message [private message]:

   Click the "Direct Message" icon or  https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging

   Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

   The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.

   - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.

   - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.

   Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

   Press Enter to send it
