Static IP Configuration

We have a /29 static IP configuration.  The access from our dynamic IP segment and from the outside world occasionally times out to the static IP addresses.  This lasts for a period of a few minutes, and then access seems to work fine for a while.  The problem was much worse when we had a server assigned to one of the static ip addresses which was regularly accessing addresses on the dynamic IP segment.  Moving that server to one of the dynamic ip addresses reduced the frequency of the problem, but it still occurs on a fairly regular basis.  I'm wondering if there is a better router than the DPC3941 for handling the static ip configuration.

More information on this..   at the time of the problem, all devices on static IPs respond to pings (ICMP) from the dynamic IP segment and from the outside, but do not respond to HTTP/TCP requests.

Thank you for reaching out to our forums! Per the modem, you can definitely own your own modem at any time that you want. You would want to visit the link: https://comca.st/2Xph5Lp and https://comca.st/3nvHVw8 to look at device compatibility. There are a lot of benefits with using the Xfinity gateways such as 24/7 technical support, software updates and security.
