Question Regarding Internal Server
Hello!
I am needing some assistance on a minor issue, and I have been searching around for a resolution.
I currently have the Comcast Business Gateway configuared to route the static IP route to a web hosting server, which is located on the same network. All external connections operate fine, as well as internal connetions (10.1.10.11).
The problem that I run into, is that we have several software with licenses that is issued to our domain name. When I attempt to access the control panels for this software, it advises me that the software license is not valid for 10.1.10.11. If I disconnect from our network and switch to another network and access via the domain name, the license is valid again.
When I am on the same network as the server and the modem, I cannot go to the domain. When I do so, it actually takes me to the Comcast Business Gateway login (hence why I am not posting my domain name). I have reviewed the settings in the modem, but cannot find what to change. Any ideas on what to change to make this work fully?
P.S: When I try to access it via the .com domain, it changes the URL to 10.1.10.1 . Not for sure if that helps or not.

Hello joshd2007 and welcome,
Please see my comments/questions below. Thanks.
I currently have the Comcast Business Gateway configuared to route the static IP route to a web hosting server, which is located on the same network. All external connections operate fine, as well as internal connetions (10.1.10.11).
Please provide more detail on this " Comcast Business Gateway configured to route the static IP route to a web hosting server, which is located on the same network. All external connections operate fine, as well as internal connetions (10.1.10.11) "? Are you saying here that your web server's network interface is configured using a Comcast static IP? It is totally unclear what your usage of the 10.1.10.11 dynamic IP address? So, do you have Comcast StaticIP address(es)?
The problem that I run into, is that we have several software with licenses that is issued to our domain name.
Could you briefly elaborate as to what these software license are used for and why are these software licenses tied to any domain name?
When I attempt to access the control panels for this software, it advises me that the software license is not valid for 10.1.10.11. If I disconnect from our network and switch to another network and access via the domain name, the license is valid again.
So when you get this error message within the control panel, does it not allow you to update or change the licensing entities? You should call the software company(ies) to find out where the key is physically located in your installed software folders and you should be able to change this to what domain name, ip address, etc. to meet you networking implementation. This certainly does not have anything to do with the Comcast Gateway (CG) and I'm sure you are aware. Actually, if you do use a web server static IP address, maybe you are in need of Reversed DNS.

This is definitely a CG settings issue! You mention that you are on the same network but your subnet mask for the CG DHCP is 255.255.255.0 and the subnet mask address for your static IP is usually 255.255.255.252(for single, 248 for 5block, and 240 for 13block), so something is not jiving with your networking configuration. If you could provide more technical configuration detail the community could better assist you.
P.S: When I try to access it via the .com domain, it changes the URL to 10.1.10.1 . Not for sure if that helps or not.
This is the CG DHCP Server IP address, which even further complicates your primary issue.
