Provide service agreement details regarding PTR and RFC2317 PTR delegation?

Comcast,

 

Will you please provide where any service agreements which state that a Comcast Business customer can have PTR records but not PTR delegation (per RFC2317)?

Yes, I can provide that information, however, can  you not pooint to online agreements that are customary for all Comcast Business accounts?  For example, I can see form the forum postings here, that PTR records are something that Comcast provides as a customary business practice, yet, when I look at my contract I see no mention of PTR records.

 

This means that the configuration of PTR records is either a "doing business as usual" practice, part of standard operating procedures, or it's governed by some other agreement of which customers are unaware.

 

If it's just a courtesy, why are Comcast Business customers not also afforded the courtesy of using RFC2317 PTR delegations?

I ask these questions because in the past few months I have seen many requests in this forum for reverse DNS delegation (aka RFC2317 PTR delegation), but they have gone unsatisfied and I want an official statement from Comcast Business about why it will not provide such a basic and customary service---one that I've had successfully since the 1990s with other ISPs---for those business customers which opt to purchase a /28 block of IP addresses.

Will someone please spell out in plain English why Comcast refuses to even discuss reverse DNS delegation with "business class" customers?

 

Will someone please show where in a the "Comcast Business" service agreement that PTR records are allowed but not PTR delegation?

 

PTR delegation is a "business class" IP service that has been provided by ISPs since the 1990s (RFC2317 style).  Why will nobody at Comcast address this issue?

Something is seriously wrong with Comcast and their claim that they offer "business class" service to their customers.  In any other ISP, "business class" means that they will gladly delegate PTR records for reverse DNS as a usual and customary part of "business".  But Comcast apparently refuses to honor requests for reverse DNS, despite the fact that there is nothing in the service agreement that says that they only allow PTR records to be provided and not PTR record delegation.

Will someone at Comcast please show me where, in the "Comcast Business" contract that I signed, the service agreement states that customers are only allowed to have PTR records and not PTR delegation?

I am currently trying to resolve this same issue.  We host our own DNS (NS,A,MX,etc.) alongside multiple domain names.  If I have to request each and every record...then running our own DNS is pointless.  If Comcast entered PTR records directing all requests from our static IPs to the in-house gateway/modem, would that resolve the problem?  

I suppose what I'm asking...how do we pose the "proper question/request" to tech support?

Will you point to the contract agreement that states Comcast will only offer to manage PTR records directly and not as a RFC2317 style delegation (something that AT&T, and other major ISPs offer to their SMB customers with a /28 allocation of IPs).  I don't see why "Enterprise" is required for something that is offered as "Business" level service elsewhere.
