Issue, Access to self hosted website from behind the router.
I have comcast business and DPC3939b router, static IP. Port forwarded to my Windows Server/IIS. Registered domain names.
Works great from other networks, but cannot access the sites by the registered domains, nor the static IP, from within the internal 10.1.10.x network.
Seems like some loop back issue I've seen on other cheap routers, but this should work on a business class router. I wonder if a firmware update would fix.
Any ideas? Someone suggested I have to enable DNS on my own server or something. Seems extreme.

You are correct in that the DPC3939B does not support NAT loopback. I believe that I DID have it working with the SMCD3G gateway. As to firmware updates... I am not sure, though I would not be hopeful.
What others have suggested is correct; setup a local DNS server that responds to queries for your registered domain name with the A/AAAA record pointing to the internal 10.1.10.x IP. Optionally, you could also do this with the hosts file on each machine, though this might be somewhat un-manageable for portable devices that would need access to the server both internally and externally.

Hello binnsbob and welcome,
Sounds like you need to have your server use a staticIP and then routeable static Ip reverse DNSed. You should have no problem externally accessing your Server's website using this networking implementation, and also for internal access the actual routeable server address cn be used. Nothing actually extreme about this networking as long as the Server is directly connected to the DPC3939B and actually it is quite straight forward.
