Expired certificate! mail.ch3.comcast.net uses an invalid security certificate.
mail.ch3.comcast.net uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate expired on 8/10/13 6:59 PM. The current time is 8/10/13 9:58 PM. Seriously?! What kind of a business generates a certificate and doesn't have a plan to refresh it before it expires? This affects Comcast Business SharePoint, Outlook Web Access and Exchange/Email access. Possibly more.

Seriously, this is a major problem for businesses. With all the weird quirks, I'm starting to regret my service provider choice. Customers aren't getting e-mails because they get labled as spam. Certficate problems. Availability issues.
It is VERY frustrating.

I am having the same problem and it just started today. I get error messages saying "there is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate" AND a security alert message saying "the security certificate has expired or is not yet valid". In invites me to 'view certificate' and when I try to do that, I get no where. Called COMCAST HELP and their reply was: We do not support Outlook. As long as you can find your email online over the internet, there's nothing wrong with Comcast.
Has anyone figured out a solution?
And Comcast ... can you please get on board and help fix this error?

Great support. This isn't an Outlook problem. Yout can't get to the webmail due to the certificate issue either, Outlook or not..
So unacceptable.

If your browser let's you ignore the issue, you can get to webmail, but it's not syncing with Outlook. Chrome will let you bypass the certificate warning, but I don't think IE will let you, and of course, you lose some functionality if you use Chrome with webmail.

If you change your IE security settings, it will let you bypass the expired certificate, however, Outlook will still not connect with the server. I talked with Comcast support this evening, and he wasn't able to figure it out. It's been elevated to Tier 2 support and I'm supposed to hear back from them.
The solution seems pretty simple...renew the certificate!
The security certificate for wemail.ch3.comcast.net needs to be renewed.
Comcast, please renew it. We have patients who try to contact us with imporant information via e-mail often. It would be nice to have normal access without having to bypass the expired certificate.

Same issue here. This is ridiculous that Comcast can't even keep a valid security certificate on the server. We need this fixed IMMEDIATELY!

Same problem, still occuring. Of course, they said it was Outlook who's got the problem and they gave me a number to call. This resulted in a long song and dance ending with " someone has gotten into your computer and wifi system and accessed all your passwords, blah, blah, blah, and a tech can fix that for $299.99". Considering I am NOT the only one with this problem, only my husband and I use the computer, and I don't click on spam links, I seriously doubt that.
I stil fail to see where the certificate expired would have to do with Outlooks instead of Comcast. I'm not buying it.
I'm sure there are other companies we could have gone with that would have been as, if not more, satisfactory than Comcast. They are really shooting themselves in the foot with the shoddy handling of this situation.

This same thing happened when we tried to access our mail this AM. WE called comcast and were told that level 2 support will get back to us. However it looks like a long wait. I did go direct through comcastbiz. And after telling IE to ignore the certificate problem, I could access my mail. All comcast has to do is update their certificate. Looks like they do not care about all the small businesses they sold to.

When will we know more about the certificate being renewed. I have had to spend time that to re set up outlook to even see my email. I don't know how hard it is to renew a certificate but this seems a litle lazy on whoever let this slip. This is not only effecting my personal email but my work email. My work email generates Money to which I had to reorganize to maintain.
This problem needs the attention of whoever can get it fixed immediately.
