Errors obtained using MX Toolbox

Using MX Toolbox I am getting these errors:

httpstexasautotrim.comThe Certificate has a name mismatch

dnstexasautotrim.com

Primary Name Server Not Listed At Parent

dnstexasautotrim.comSOA Refresh Value is outside of the recommended range

spftexasautotrim.comNo SPF records found

I am not too worried about the https error since we do not do any kind of online commerce or ordering thru the website that would actually require this, but the other errors do concern me.

What can be done to remedy these errors?

Hello rday1969 and welcome,

As you can see below, your texasautotrim.com domain zone file does need to have its CNAM, PTR and SOA records added/updated.  You should contact  you domain hosting admiinistrator to provide these updates for you.

Hope this helps you out.

Just to add to what VBSSP-RICH has said, a note on the SPF ("Sender Policy Framework") record; this is only really useful if you are hosting your own email server. If you are, create a TXT record with the following values:

"v=spf1 a mx -all"

Your domain should then pass SPF verification. If you're not running a mail server, I wouldn't worry about it.

VBSSP-Rich, that is why I posted originally. I know the records need to be updated due to the results of the MX Toolbox analysis. Comcast is our website host, email host, domain host, etc. I am the IT Administrator for the end client, Texas Auto Trim, but I am not real familiar with dealing with these types of issues. I am mainly desktop and application support, although I am having to take a crash course of sorts in dealing with the webhost and DNS side of things. Are these records manageable by myself thru the https://sitecontrol.webhosting.comcast.net site...where the Control Panel and DNS settings are located? If so, what values to I need to change and what do I need to change them to? Or do I need to call Comcast Business Class Support or webhosting support?

Train_Wreck, we are not running email servers as Comcast is our email provider. Where does the txt record need to be created, in the DNS settings? I have a SPF entry already but it may not be set up correctly. The only way I can add it is as an SPF record:

Type  TTL    Source                                          Destination                Type  TTL     Source                        Destination

@SPF  14400  @.texasautotrim.comcastbiz.net  v=spf1 a mx -all        SPF  14400   @.texasautotrim.com  v=spf1 a mx -all

I STILL have not gotten a definitive answer on this. Do I need to call Comcast Business Support and explain to them what the errors are and what was pointed out that I need to change or update or will Comcast_John EVER respond to my private message I sent him regarding this issue?
