canoot ping static ip address
hello,
have a new installaion of a Cisco DPC3939B wih one purchased static IP address.
Connected a Cisco RV220 router to a LAN port of the DPC3939B.
Configured the WAN port IP address on the RV220 to be the "usable" static IP address.
All the clients connected to the RV220 LAN ports can connect to the Internet.
How can I verify that the RV220 router is responding to the "usable" static IP address?
Ping and tracert works for the IP address assigned to the DPC3939B.
Ping and tracert fail for the "usable" IP address.

In addition, you'll need to make sure that the Cisco RV220 is configured to respond to pings ("ICMP" messages) on the static IP-configured interface (WAN interface). This is sometimes a checkbox labeled "Respond to WAN ping" or an option to NOT "filter" pings or ICMP.
Another way you can check whether the Cisco device has the proper static IP config is to go to http://myipaddress.com from any computer connected to the Cisco's LAN. That web site should show your usable static IP address.

Thanks very much for your answer, it was helpful.
I did have the RV220 configured to not respond to ping.
