BYOD email (bring your own domain)
I transferred a domain over from Yahoo/Melborne last weekend. I have successfully created a web page that is viewable using www.mydomain.com, however I get an error when I try to create a new outlook email address using myname@mydomain.com.
The domain is still registered with Melborne. The DNS records and the mx records are visible on viewdns.info and are exactly as specified by comcast help pages. Yahoo said I should change account with them to domain registration only which I have done.
I am on my 3rd or 4th tier 2 ticket RE this and still no solution. Wife is upset 'cause I killed her email...
The Comcast widget for moving domains has been bugged since the start. It took a tier 2 ticket to get the domain to transfer, however, email is still problematic.
If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks.

Hello dnelsen and welcome,
If you have " transferred a domain over from Yahoo/Melborne last weekend " using these specific Business Class Portal (BCP) instructions, then it is necessary for you to now create a existing email account using these instructions or these. After you complete the creation of your Mircorsoft email address, you can then log into this email address, then under Manage.Services click email, then click View DNS Settings and this will provide you with any and all yourdomain Outlook incoming, outgoing, or Exchange email addresses. These domain addresses will be needed to add, configure, etc. all of your domain's Outlook email addresses.
Hope this helps you out.

Adding the CNAME autodiscover records solved my outlook connectivity issues. This was after TIer 2 manually added the myname@mydomain.com email account.
So all's well; however, I have to say, the Comcast documentation is confusing and outdated. IMHO the BYOD widget is still broken. There were 2 tier 2 actions that were required to get everything moved and set up. That is not to mention my education about CNAME and MX and autodiscover records.
Other than that we're pretty happy w Comcast. LOVE the MS exchange functionality. WAY better than trying to use Outlook (windows) with iCloud.
