Early termination fees

I'm moving to different state and Comcast Business cannot provide service on my new location. And now I'm facing early termination fees for something they cannot provide.

Hey @user_d60f27, thank you for taking the time to make this post and express your concerns regarding the Early Termination Fee (ETF). It is exciting to hear that you are moving! I do hope that everything with that transition goes well for you. I can most certainly understand your concern with the ETF applying due to your move though. Customers receive a special price/offer in exchange for agreeing to keep the service for a certain period of time and if you were to cancel your service before that term agreement has expired, it would result in an ETF being applied to the account. You do have the option to modify the services you have set up without an ETF being applied, but a complete cancellation of the account does result in the ETF being applied due to the term agreement not being fulfilled. If you were moving to an area that did provide Comcast services, we would have the option to transfer your services. However, if you are moving to an area where we are not able to provide service due to another service provider being offered in that area, an ETF would apply since the original agreement of the duration of service could not be maintained at the new address. Please let me know if you have any questions on this or anything else!

What is my option? When I sign contract year ago I have no idea that today I will be moving, and why do you punish customers for something you cannot provide?

In certain scenarios, we can apply for an ETF waiver. I can assist with getting the process started. Would you be able to start a peer-to-peer chat with us so I can collect the necessary account information? You will see a chat option in the right hand corner of the web page. Click that to start a private chat with myself or another available employee.

shouldn't waivers be sent to everyone who is going out of business during covid? banks, lenders, landlords, suppliers are all suspending fines right now.
