Do I have to have a new 2 year contract if upgrading speed of connection?
I really really don't want to get into a contract as I did that last time for 3 years thinking that guaranteed pricing as starting a business is costly and you want to know your costs. Low and behold the equipment rental was not in the contract (which I had missed) and I hadn't even been with comcast a month and they put the rental prices up and static ip address price up !!!
So I really like the service but I don't want to sign another contract - is this even possible?
Wish I could just speak to someone about this but its so so so so so hard.

I wouldn't say its indirect I would say its not there. It used to be a number of years back. I guess Comcast just want to annoy those that have cash to spend and want Comcasts services as well as the people that are trying to leave them !!
I have messaged you.
Thanks for your help you are one up on the customer service that I tried to contact.
Cheers

For everyone you must at least do a 1 year contract for new or upgrade.

Don't feel too bad about it. The modem rental IS in my contract and they raised it anyway. I called and waited, and waited, and waited and finally got someone on the phone. Did me no good at all. Basicly was told "where ya gonna go?" and how many thousands the early termination fee was. So, I begurdgingly put up with it and pay the higher bill that is NOT according to the signed contract that Comcast will not honor. Contract is up in a few more months but there is still no where else to go and the bill will likely go up yet again.
Comcast has a monopoly in most areas they cover and they know it. And treat thier customers accordingly.
