Comcast Business reverse DNS / PTR update request for static IP
Hello,
I’m a Comcast Business customer with a static IPv4 address, and I need help updating the reverse
DNS / PTR record for that static IP.
The IP is used for our mail server, and I need the PTR record changed from the default Comcast
static-IP hostname to our mail server hostname. The forward DNS record for the mail hostname is
already configured and resolves correctly to the static IP.
This is needed so the mail server has matching forward and reverse DNS for mail deliverability.
Can a verified Comcast Business employee please let me know the correct process for updating
reverse DNS / PTR on a Comcast Business static IP? I can provide the static IP address and
desired mail hostname privately once requested.
Thank you.
