Beware of service upgrades thru Comcast
I was called by a contractor for Comcast in April 2018 and told my level of basic business service would no longer be available after 20 years and I need to upgrade so I agreed to upgrade. The order was sent to comcast from the contractor and I guess the price they gave me wasn't availablle but I wasnt told this. I recieved no phone calls for a month. Once i called to see why Comcast hadnt showed up for the install of a TV so we would recieve a discount they couldn't find the order. They had to put it in again and I had to sign another agreement. Because they had my incorrect suite # (which I had been trying to correct for 15 years) they actually sent the install notice to my neighbor at a completely different email address, so again I had no idea. After more of the same and 8-10 hours on the phone over 6 weeks I called to cancel and went with another provider. The install never hapenned but because I signed an agreement they are now trying to collect from me for service I never recieved. The billing department phone bank people dont care and are clueless. I dont have the time or the energy to deal with this and I refuse to pay $400 for someting I never recieved. So my credit will be affected because I refuse to pay. Be very careful and DO NOT deal with anyone who is a contractor outside of Comcast. The sales people have been understanding and kind but I have gotten nowhere. After 20 years of service you are just a number and the different departments just dont communicate. Billing does not care at all. I was never told until a month ago I needed to sign a document to cancel service. I told the rep on the phone to cancel my service and he never said ONE thing about a document to sign. I hope this helps someone. Good luck
