WIFI cutting out

I am having problems with my WIFI connection especially when trying to use GoTo--I lose connection after 5/10 minutes. Also my phones are showing weak WIFI coverage.

Any thoughts on a fix? Any way to check the source of the problem?

Oh that ia different because you are using your own wireless router (owr) which is fine. Log into the NetGear 3000 (NG3K) using the same login credentials as in my first post of this thread. Then go to LAN and make sure that your DNSs are set to pri=75.75.75.75 and sec=75.75.76.76. Then change your LAN DHCP Server Leasetime setting to FOREVER, click apply/save to have these settings stick. After you NG3K comes back up, relogin to verify that these settings have been changed. Lastly, unplug your owr for 30 seconds then plug it back in. This will enable your owr to be connected psuedo permanently unless like you have a power outage, etc. at yo0ur business.

If you are still having disconnect or loss of your SSID signaling, then log into your owr and check to see what channel it is configured to and if it is 11 then try changing it to 6.

Hope this helps you out.

Hello Martin_B and welcome,

If you are using the DPC3939B Comcast Gateway (CG), its standard configuration is automatic and uses channel 11. You might want to log into the CG by connecting an ethernet connected computer to one of the free rear LanPorts, bringing up a browser to 10.1.10.1 address and username=cusadmin/password=highspeed. Then go to wifi and click manual, then select channel 6, save these settings to see if that works better for you. This situation usually means you have many other devices using wifi channel 11 and injecting interference with you CG broadcasting its wifi signaling.

Hope this help you out.

It's actually a Netgear CG3000 DCR--does that make a difference to your proposed fix?

Thanks. I've changed the leastime setting per your suggestion (the DNSs were set properly) so I'll see if that makes the difference. If not, I'll move on to plan b and change the owr channel. Thanks!
