What's your mandatory Comcast Internet backup?
Since mid 2013 we've had outages lasting for anywhere from 3 hours to 36 hours at least once a month. We lose it when it's hot, we lose it when there's a storm, we lose it when it's cold. Today it's raining so yep we lost the connection at 2:30 and it won't be back until 6:30.
To deal with this we now have a backup ISP - cell service from T-Mobile. Not a bad deal for ocassional use. We have one of our computers configured as a bridge and voila, it's a shared connection for everyone in the office.
So here's my question, who's your backup provider? Do people have better luck with DSL?
I figure this is a regional issue as opposed to a terrible provider, but if Comcast can't get its stuff together for middle of the central business district in Chicago, where does it work?

Hello mjc,
You might want to check this out as a backup and/or dedicated implementation.

I haven't been having any trouble with my Comcast DOCSIS business service in quite a long time but when I do, I use Verizon Wireless LTE for backup. I am fortunate to have a grandfathered unlimited data plan with them. Of course, this only works for outgoing IP connections, so it is not much of a solution, but it is better than nothing when there is trouble with the Comcast service.
