I got a response from the SamKnows support staff regarding my network issue:
It took a little time for us to figure out why your additional WAP's won't work with our device, and I think we have finally got to the bottom of it.
Guest networks on Apple Extreme's use tagged traffic as part of their VLAN, and regrettably, our devices don't play nice with VLAN's, which is why puting these devices downstream of our device isn't working...
If tagged traffic is important to your network, it might be best if you do not participate in this survey.

I'm not sure if there is a firm time there. I imagine it's flexible as they wait for all the boxes to be delivered and setup within the customers network. Personally mines been running since the day I got it.

Just as a heads up. The trial has ended and SamKnows says it's safe to remove the box from your network. They also noted they'd be in touch shortly with information on the gift card and how to return the box.

I can't imagine they want the card board inserts back. Just put the device and power cable into the box by itself.

Just wanted know, if anyone has a time frame on when Comcast are sending out the Cards?
I have not got any emails lately about it.
I know they have my unit back from UPS.

I haven't heard anything. I'm assuming they are waiting until a majority of the boxes are returned.

Hello Bitblaster,
Can you clarify your question to the community?
Specifically to your possible use of multiple static IP addresses in your network with this study.
Thank you

Oroszdb,
Unfortunately, you'd be unable to use the FCC whitebox for this trial. You would need to sign up for the SamKnows trial and have the specific whitebox for the Comcast trial sent out. Although there are some similarities, the SamKnows trial is performing a specific suite of tests and the whitebox devices are not interchangeable, the trials are distinct and different.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Alan

It should also be noted that apparently the data this box is collecting is private. When I asked for access I was told..
"In regards to the data, I'm afraid Comcast have specified the data remains confidential for this project. The main purpose of this project is to find where there are issues in the network and iron them out. Their engineers are monitoring the data very closely themselves and actively looking to find places where there are problems and help resolve them."

The validation period will be starting very soon. We will be starting the trial period very soon and we will mail you the exact date of start and end when we know for sure.
Kind regards,

That was 7 days ago.
I know the units were up since April 30th. Because that is when I got my unit.
Should I not be running it ? Until the study starts. When will that be?

Is anyone else having a problem fitting the 4.0 pound SamKnows white box container inside the 3.5 pound UPS Small Box container?!?! (The sizes I gave are just for relative comparison to get across that the white box is BIGGER than the provided return UPS box that it is supposed to be returned in.)
The only way the two seem to just barely fit is to take the carton out of the white box and put it directly in the UPS box. The original FedEx Box was a Medium size box. *ugh*
