New customer having problems with accessing email
Many problems with many aspects of new account but best to take them on one at a time.
Email... I have two users set up. One is me the overall manager of the account. I am able to log into the Comcast business site and see the options to manage email, website, purchase new services etc. The email I have set up as mine is manager@ourURL.org.... this is the same user that l log in with. So I login and find the place where I can view my email. My browser is set to let the popups open and one does where I am asked to login (huh?... thought I was). Anyway, I put in the manager@ourURL.org again and the same password and I get this:
The user name or password you entered isn't correct. Try entering it again.
I have poked around and do not see where I can have two different passwords for the same username. I have wondered that with all the bias to Outlook etc. if I am screwed because I am a Mac user? Does not seem like this would be the case for webmail.

Anyway, I put in the manager@ourURL.org again and the same password and I get this:
First, this is typical security level for logging into the Business Class Portal (BCP) itself, then logging into a specific email address. This security level prevents standard users from logging into Adminitstrator accounts, etc.
The user name or password you entered isn't correct. Try entering it again.
I have poked around and do not see where I can have two different passwords for the same username. I have wondered that with all the bias to Outlook etc. if I am screwed because I am a Mac user? Does not seem like this would be the case for webmail.
So, I presume that when you activated your BCP account you chose "Use existing Email". This should not present any problem. However when going this route, it is still necessary for you to confirm in your existing email account the authentication per this link. Continuing down this avenue, it is still required that you add your existing email account and setup a password in order for you to log in. Please see inside the previious per this link where this is stipulated. You might want to use this link to correct any email issues you are currently having and I believe this may provide assistance.
Hope this helps you out.

In a round about way this did help out. I had already activated my account and entered all the info. What I did was log back in and changed my password. Then I tried to log in to look at email and it worked.
I have also noticed that the configuration of my Mac Mail which did not seem to have worked before had finnally delivered the test messages using the old password. I have updated and all is working now.

Hello again jasperx,
Good hearing from you and glad that we were able to provide assistance to get you up and running. It is important to keep track of your password update security. It is also very important to make sure all email devices, domains, etc. use the addresses which are located within the Business Class Portal.Manage Services. Email.View DNS Info online list. This is the second place to look after the password...
Take care...

Within seconds of posting my SystemPreferences>Internet Accounts opened a window which announced that it had found my account and everything is now set up. The Exchange Server method is the one which suddenly started working.
I am just guessing that what was happening was that an earlier attempt to connect with Exchange looked to fail and after several minutes worked. Somewhere in configuration instructions it might be good to have some for Mac Mail with a prominent warning that it can take quite a while for things to complete.

Email retrieval on two macs at home was established and worked fine for quite a while. Then I started noticing that I was unable to send emails using the comcast smtp. I tried many things... some work, some don't. Here is a partial list:
1)I am able to log in to the email and see it via webmail... confirms username and password I think.
2) I have a mac version of outlook and I allowed it to auto configure.... that works
3) I have tried Mac Mail (which used to work) The failure message is Internet Accounts preferences can't connect to the account... Enter the password for user... Unable to verify account name or password. I am almost positive that this used to work. My ISP is ATT and the service is uverse dsl.
4) I tried configuring an Exchange account this also fails with a message about the identity of the server not being verified. It has an invalid certificate.
5) I did have my iphone set up to get this mail and did so with an exchange account... it probably is no longer working as early in the process of trying to figure out why things quit working, I did change my password on the Comcast Business email account.
