Multiple buildings

We have Businees internet at a ball field in our clubhouse. About 200 feet away is our snack bar. We would like to have internet in the snack bar in order to accept credit cards. Is there  a way to run a cable to the other building?  Is there a wifi solution that would reach that far?

Hello Hanerch and welcome,

Yes, Comcast can provide this for you. If you have a DPC3939/3941 Comcast Gateway (CG) in your clubhouse, Comcast offers WIFI proximity extenders for these CGs that you can purchase from them for a one time 79.95 charge for installation. These typically can be connected to you clubhouse CG via coaxial cable or ethernet which Comcast can perform the coaxial cabling but typically not the ethernet cabling. The only other aspect to enable this is on your CG you must have the MOCA service/facility enabled. Comcast has many business class customers that utilize this to meet their business requirements. Contact Comcast at 800-391-3000, use the high speed internet technical option, then speak to a technical representative about scheduling a technician to perform this installation.

Hope this helps you ouy.

200 feet is within reachability of ethernet.   For a lot less cost you could get a decent cable guy who could use the machine that slits the ground and installs the underground-resistent ethernet cable.  And reliability would be far better than any wifi setup.

But before that - just for grins - try a powerline adapter.  It just might work.
