How to test the Connection Pro Cell backup?

Hello experts,

so Comcast installed an impressive amount of hardware, including a Cradlepoint router with an antenna.

Right, so how do I test it actually works? Are there any test procedures documented for testing the cell backup?

Also, what scenarios are actually covered? The product pages mix 2 aspects: having a UPS (a battery) and having a cellular connection as a backup. Is this all about "pulling the plug" or would this cover e.g. loss of the cable link?

Does Comcast has some documentation about the necessary cabling? I wonder a bit about the fact that all I can see is the Cradlepoint's WAN interface is connected to one of the Internet gateway LAN ports. How is this supposed to work? My local computers would send the packets to the Internet gateway, which then sends it to the Cradlepoint?

Thanks & Regards,

Marc

Spent some late evening testing to kinda reverse-engineer how this seems to work. Again, I find this odd that for a service I pay I then have to find out myself how it works. At least some basic information on the account webpage or the forum would be helpful.

Turns out that, instead of pluging my internal network into the DPC3941B Internet gateway, I have to connect my network to one of the Cradlepoint LAN ports.

I still want to know from Comcast what failure scenarios are covered by the installation. Any information available?

A new question, after my tests, is: what bandwidth ("up to") is the cellular service supposed to deliver?

I understand that it will be (far) less than my cable service but I measured less than 1Mbps uplink speed - I have more on my phone w/ cellular Internet and frankly 1Mbps is not fitting business needs.

It would be nice if the response was PUBLIC. Our cell backup has never worked. Installer told me it was not designed to work with a business network!

We do have many business customers that have Connection Pro working. If you can send us that PM and your account information we can take the right actions to help out.
