Connection Blocking Database
My organization uses a database system to keep track of our information (ChurchTrac9.1) and I have not been able to synchronize new information to the system since having this internet service. I used another computer and different wifi connection earlier today and it loaded everything just fine so it has to be the connection settings. I've tried several things with the support staff as we thought it may be a security update with Windows but we've had no luck. Any help is appreciated! Signed, puzzled for the past 3 weeks...

By the way, the other computer I used was an HP laptop. When I tried to sync the database under our business wifi connection on the laptop it failed too just as it did on the PCs, but when I changed the connection to a personal wifi hotspot it worked fine and synced...

Microsoft over the last couple months released some rollup updates for Windows 8 that interfere with some network adapter card drivers. The name brand computer makers (Dell, HP, etc.) knew this was coming last year and updated their drivers. Make sure your BIOS and all drivers are patched to the latest firmware.
If you running 8 you might as well try out the Windows 10 preview.

The PCs are Dell and we are running 8.1 and have reserved Windows 10 for the full roll out at the end of the month

Does it work OK if you eschew the wifi connection and just plug a machine directly into the ethernet port of the modem?
What's the model of modem?
Is the modem in true bridged mode with a separate router behind it or are you running a wifi signal from the modem?

Hello wesleychapellr and welcome,
If your application uses a web interface to the database and you have migrated this domain into your business class portal then please check out this webhosting link for for storage, database, etc. supported sizing, type, etc., respectively.
Else if you are just running a DBMS application, the internet service should have no bearing on its operational condition. If your DBMS requires specific ports to be open during routing through the Comcast Gateway, then these should be Port Forwarded on the DHCP address you device is using.
Could you provide some additional information on the makeup of your application?
Look forward to hearing from you.
