service user / services manager

Isn't there a user type that allows access to the technical management of an account without also having the ability to change the service and subscription?  When I create a "service user" they don't have access to any devices, but when I create a "Services Manager" they have access to the devices, but also the ability to alter the data rate / subscription.

Hi there, @user_e6f3a4 Thank you so much for reaching out to us regarding your question.

  • Managers — Have access to services, settings, and billing.
  • Members — Have access to troubleshooting and Xfinity apps.
  • Viewers — Have access to Xfinity apps

Those are the only 3 user roles available.-Richard

Demonstrably false.

Oh good grief.  It doesn't look like I can attach a screen shot here.  I'm going to paste in the text, and it's going to be a mess, but I'll do the best I can.

Have you tried having them listed as the "Billing Manager"? It will allow them access to make a payment on the account, however, they will not be able to make any changes to the services. Does this allow them to view the devices?

@Comcast_Jeniece I want the tech person to have access to tech issues and not any financial issues.  This is basic separation of responsibilities.  And are you ASKING me or TELLING me what your system provides?  Is this trial and error?

Hello user_e6f3a4 with Comcast Business profiles specifically, you can designate managers into separate roles

User Types and Permissions

Primary Manager: Reserved for the account creator and provides service and billing management for all subscribed services and management of account users. You can only have one Primary Manager per account.

Services Manager: Allows management and upgrading of subscribed features and services as well as management of account users.

Billing Manager: Authorizes a user to pay bills and update account payment information.

Service User: Manages individual service preferences, but cannot view/pay bills or make account-level changes to subscribed services. Service user is the default user status and does not need to be assigned.

There is no specific manager profile at present for only repair/Tech Support functions, but the Services Manager profile would provide all necessary access for troubleshooting.
