2.4GHZ WIFI Connectivity Issues

Our business modem with built-in 2.5 and 5GHZ wireless has connectivity issues for systems that cannot connect to the 5GHZ.  The 2.4GHZ has problems and often drops connectivity whereas the 5GHZ systems do not experience this problem.  Solutions?

You should be able to have online control of your DPC39XX using this link: http://businesshelp.comcast.com/help-and-support/internet/comcast-business-online-account-private-wifi-settings/

Hi VBSSP-RICH

Surprise! Surprise!

Now that I logged into my Business Account, I do see the option to disable the Public WiFI (XFINITY Wifi).

As of yesterday, that option was not showing when I click on Manage Services->Internet.

Do you have the Cisco DPC3939B gateway/modem and router? If yes, your problems may be emanating from the Public WiFi. (XFINITY WIFI). I have the same issues.

There is no way for the customer (you) to disable the XFINITY Wifi. You can call Comcast who will disable it on your modem. But the XFINITY WiFi will return once the modem reboots or sometimes even without a reboot.

That is why I am switching over to using my own modem and router so I can have better control.

That link you provided does not apply for Business Comcast accounts. Even according to Comcast Tech Support (1-800-391-3000), that information is invalid.

There is no way to control your Public WiFi within the Comcast Business.

Actually, that link does pertain to the business class DPC3939B or DPC3941B Gateway. You will also find that your public wifi (xfinitywifi hotspot) can be controlled from the same area.
