Setting up paging on Polycom VVX 311 phones

Hello. We have a bunch of Polycom VVX 311 phones in our office and I was wondering if there was a soft key for paging.

We would like to be able to page every phone in the office from one phone. If there is no default soft key, how can I go about setting one up for paging purposes?

Thank you.

My apologies Barbara. I was able to find the user guide for the Polycom VVX 311 by Googling "Polycom VVX 301 / 311 IP Phones" and by using the Find feature within the PDF (Cntrl F) I was able to locate the instructions to set up Group Paging. I hope that helps!

It appears paging is not available in the Polycom Vxx311 phones. There is no option to even set it up in the settings. Wejust had Comcast install a rather large phone system and while during the sales call it was clearlr mentioned we needed paging capability it now appreas we have about 65 installed phones that can't do what we expected them to do. Customer support has yet to respond why we were set up with paging groups we can't actually use!!!!

on the account setup, there is a tab for paging.

group 1 is set to page all phones.

however, now that the group is set up, there are no instructions how to use this group #1 to actually page all of the phones.

this was a required feature of our business account and should be easy to implement by any VOIP supplier.

when i pick up the polycom vxx 311 telephone, how do I page all phones in group 1?

posting here 1st, then it is going on google.

So, Comcast_Anisa,

Why did you have to take that to a PM?  Are you hiding that you didn't fulfill your promise to have the ability to page on Polycom 311 phones?  That's what we were told, too--that we could page with those phones.  Nope.

@, there are times when troubleshooting that if our steps aren't working as planned that we need to get an account pulled up and discuss specifics related to that account in order to assist. We don't ask for that information publicly, after we do find a resolution, we do our best to respond to the original post about the solution.

You can setup up the Polycom 311 phones to page, although it's a tedious process if you have a lot of phones.  My company just switched over to voip and the majority of our phones are the 311s.  You have to select which phones can page and establish paging groups through the voice edge manager.  After that you have to manually change one setting on each individual polycom phone in order for the paging key to appear.  On the polycom, you have to click on the home key, then click on settings, then click on advanced(which then prompts you to put in a password(default is 468283)), click on Paging/PTT Configuration, then select paging configuration, then select Group paging and change it from Disable to Enabled.  Then continue to hit the back button until you get to a screen that gives you the option to Save Config.  Select Save Config.  After that, one of your bottom soft keys will now say paging.  There's more settings that you can adjust but those are the basics.
