Require a Distinctive Ring option for Business VoiceEdge ® Hunt Groups
We have several hunt groups defined in our organization and really need the functionality of a distinctive ring for the hunt group. In searching the forum I have not found where this option has been enabled.

Yes I did. From a previous posts (was a year ago) Distinctive Ring and Hunt Groups were separate. The understanding is that the Hunt Group automatically rings the extension of the user and is not differentiated as a unique number. Therefore a Distinctive Ring rule cannot be applied.

@Comcast_Marcos, I apologize for the delayed response. No, the hunt group is setup as a simultaneous ring pattern, and we desire for the hunt group to ring the same ring tone across all users that is distinctive and different than the default ring tone. Our previous system, an Allworx Connect 731 phone server, had the ability to set a distinctive ring (ie: two short, on long) for a hunt group. This allowed the members to identify whether a call was a direct dialed call or a group call. An example: our Technical Services department receives external calls that are routed through the hunt group while also receiving many external calls from known clients that have their extensions or internal calls (extension to extension).
Currently the only way to differentiate is to look at the phone display to see who is calling. While that might seem a very simple and obvious thing, most users are multitasking and simply grab the handset to answer without looking at the caller ID. Having a distinctive ring, be it a pattern or tone, would be very useful in the mindset of how one answers the phone for a known client versus unknown.

We have the same request. I have one of our main users who is a member of 3 Hunt Groups. This person wants to be able to tell when the call is coming from HG1, HG2, HG3, or a direct/tx call into his line. Right now they all ring the same. One HG for example is a private number. Another HG is emergency calls. If there is a way, please let me know.
(I was going to call support on this next week, but discovered the forums today.)

CC Support answered this on another post. It is not possible to have separate ring tones by HG. I asked that they log as a feature request.
In the simplest form, allow separate ring tones between direct calls and calls from a HG number.

Has any progress been made on this since the last post 3 years ago? Seems by now you should be able to set a different ring tone for a Hunt Group and your direct line but I can't figure out how if so! Thank you!
