Busy signal instead of going to voicemail?

We have a small salon and just one line. When the line is being used client calls go to voice mail and some have become angry assuming we are either not there or are ignoring them on purpose.

We would rather have a busy signal when the line is busy but can't figure out how to make that happen. I've gone down the list of available settings, tried a bunch, but none seem to do the job. The online settings have nothing for this.

Any ideas?

Hello Ianails and welcome,

The following are some alternatives for you to try :

1. enable your Call Waiting and then when you are on the phone you can put the 1st caller on hold, click the flash hook then take the 2nd caller's call then after finishing, click the flash hook again, to return to the 1st caller.

2. use your Digital Voice Center to disable your voice mail and if you have not activated it just contact Comcast at 800391300 use option 1, then select Digital Voice option, have this technical agent remove VM from your TN and then whenever you are on the phone with a customer and a second customer calls in, that second customer will receive a busy signal.

Hope this helps you out.

Something so simple, but it' can't really be done.

Disabling Voice Mail and removing it as an option is not desirable either. After hours we want that.

Disappointing.
