Stuck in the middle re: Porting phone number to new provider
Hello,
Curious to know if anyone else has had a similar issue?
Mid 2017 we ported our 4 numbers over from Comcast, to our new VoIP carrier. 3 of these numbers were known to us as being in production (business cards, website etc) The fourth was a mystery number of sorts. We never advertised with it, never dialed out on it as far as we knew etc. Inversely we could not find reference to a number that we actively use. Thus it appears there is a relationship between absent production and our mystery number. Still with me?? I suspect the production number forwards to the mystery number and that the forwarding needs to be addressed.
When we inquire with the production numbers "listed carrier" they tell us this is a "Comcast issue" and that we're not the only ones having this type of problem. When we called Comcast, they've said the issue isn't their problem and to refer to the "listed carrier" -so we're stuck in the middle. When we terminate comcast service my fear is this long time number will be relinquished and impact our advertising efforts.
I have low expectations of resolution but was curious if there are any other suggestions out there...
Thank you.

Hi AdvSrv and welcome to the business forums.
I can look in our internal systems and check to see if this number exists. If it doesn't, it would need to be addressed with the current carrier. Please private message me your full name, the name of your business, the full service address and the phone number associated with your account.
