ported number away from comcast, still being charged!
I have business internet/phone for my home office. In order to save money, I had my phone number ported to a VOIP provider. After the number started working with the new provider on 1/26, I called Comcast and canceled my voice service, and returned the equipment in early February.
A few days ago I get my March bill, and I'm still being charged for both the voice line and the returned equipment! I called support right away, and am being told that the port never completed, and they can't cancel the service until the other provider completes the port. The other provider, of course, says that the port is completed, and I just need to cancel service with my old provider. To which comcast says, if they cancel the service, the number will somehow be yanked from the new provider and disconnected, and I won't have any service at all.
So I'm trying to figure out what the hell is really going on. They provide this information to 'prove' that the port is completed:
YMAX YMAX VOIPPORT PORTIN completed bpeluser 1520015093 0879Y00013716062 01 [my number, deleted] 2016-01-26 completed 2016-01-26T01:05:53.068-05:00 0879Y00013716062 YMAX
Can someone at comcast help me figure out what's going on? Is the number ported or not? If not, what can I show them to prove it isn't. Their support folks are... disappointing. 😞

Thanks! I'd noticed over in the Internet forum that you online support folks seem to be able to resovle issues that the phone support folks can't. I was really hoping that was the case when I posted, and I'm glad it was.
